Active volcanoes are volcanoes which are currently erupting, have recently erupted or have erupted in the last 10,000 years most scientists consider a volcano active if it had erupted in the Holocene period.

Mount Baker, also known as Koma, Kulshan or Kulshan, is an active volcano in Washington in the United States. Mount baker last erupted in 1880. The volcano's height is 10,781 feet (3,286 m), It has the second-most thermally active crater in the Cascade Range after Mount Saint Helens. About 31 miles (50 km) due east of the city of Bellingham, Whatcom County, Mount Baker is the youngest volcano in the Mount Baker volcanic field.

Krakatoa (Indonesian name: Krakatau) is an active volcano in the Sunda Strait, Indonesia. The volcano has erupted repeatedly in known history. The best known of these events occurred in late August 1883. The 1883 eruption ejected more than six cubic miles of rock, ash, and pumice, and made the loudest sound ever recorded by human beings. The sound was heard as far away as Perth in Australia (3,500 km; 2,200 miles), and the island of Rodrigues near Mauritius (4,800 km; 3,000 miles).Many thousands of people were killed and injured by the eruption, mostly in the tsunami (giant wave) which followed the explosion.

Mount Fuji (富士山, Fuji-san) is the tallest mountain in Japan, at 3,776 metres (12,388 ft) high. The volcano stands on the border between Shizuoka Prefecture and Yamanashi Prefecture. It is on a tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Mount Fuji is officially classified as an active volcano but some describe Fuji as dormant or inactive. Many people climb Mt. Fuji every year. The summer during 25 July to 25 August is the official climbing season. There are three mountain-climbing routes on the Shizuoka side of Mt. Fuji.
